2018 Carneros Pinot Noir
14.2% Alc. 130 Cases
Our 2018 Carneros Pinot Noir is comprised of 3 separate Clones from 3 separate vineyard sites that are all organically farmed by Owner/Winemaker Jess Wade. In the cool of the night, we drove our tractors between the 3 vineyards hand picking and sorting to ensure only the best fruit comes into the winery. Hand sorted once more in the winery, each clone is fermented separately with only native yeasts.
The final blend is composed of 38% Clone 115, 38% Pommard, and 24% Clone 114 with each fermentation containing 30% whole cluster. We carefully choose the oak integration utilized in this blend and only the Pommard will age in these New French Oak barrels. Our carefully chosen final blend ages for 16 months in 20% New French Oak, racked once and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
A rich bouquet of bright raspberry and blackberry with hints of savory herbs are key indicators to the long cool ripening period we experienced in 2018. As the fruit persists on the palate, mild earth notes accompany the mild tannins rounding out the overall experience this wine delivers.
