2018 Placida Vineyard, Russian River Pinot Noir
14.2% Alc. 55 cases
Located in the heart of the Russian River Valley, the Placida Vineyard shares the deep and very well drained Sebastopol Sandy Loam soils with Ultra-Premium Pinot Noir producers such as Delhinger, Kistler, and Paul Hobbs. From this world renowned wine growing region, we are producing a single vineyard designate comprised of equal parts Dijon Clone 667 and 777 Pinot Noir to bring complex yet still very approachable wine. Fermented with 30% whole cluster and native yeasts, we are allowing the vineyard to really shine through in every bottle. Aged 16 months in 50% new French oak the wine is racked once and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
There is delicate balance between elegance and power and our 2018 Placida Vineyard Pinot Noir is a superb representation of accomplishing that sense of balance. Intense aromatics of black cherries, stewed strawberry, and quince are perfectly complimented by a perfume of savory spices and bramble. The finish is bright and lifted with refined tannins and well integrated acidity.
